Arts and crafts

There are perks to being an officer. Of course, the SU doesn't tell you about these, mainly because we don't want people to run for these roles for the wrong reasons. One of the perks is that we get to partake in a couple of rounds of arts and crafts.

Now this is mainly because of teambuilding since we all each had to write something nice in said boxed. As you can see, I am not artisitically inclined, instead I prefer to write (and I'll be honest, I'm alot better at it) and thus my box is a little bit more abstract in how it demostrates my personality.

I chose the rainbow feathers because I see myself as a bright and colourful character. The pink is because I'm very loving and it looked nicer on the lid. I'm a little bit annoyed that I'm not as artistic as my fellow collegues but hey ho, I'm hoping that my role doesn't involved too many brightly coloured boxes.

I am also in contact with SULETs to see whether we can look to extend the contract lengths to suit postgraduate students as a short term way to improve the housing issue.

Finally, I am a little bit emotional. Since today is the last day for most of the current exec team, which means that tommorow, it's officaly our first day in office (technically I've been booking meetings slightly earlier because I like to hit the ground running). Whilst I'm upset to say goodbye to the likes of Daniel (the outgoing LGBTQ+ Rep who I've been coursemates with for the last 2 years), Lauren (the outgoing women's rep who's done some much to inspire more female leaders and really made a positive impact), Kiera (the outgoing VP Welfare and community who has been praised more than Jesus for her work), Dan Whinney (the outgoing president who did alot with the sports teams) and Augustus (the outgoing DP Education who did 2 fantastic BME days and did alot with the NUS this year), Vivian (the outgoing international students rep who was very active in councils) and Aron (the outgoing mature students rep who was incredibly sweet), I also appreciate that they will be going onto to bigger and better things. 

So that is the end of today's entry. Hopefully I should be able to give you guys a Twitter handle so you guys can follow me.
