Dance like no one is watching

DMU has some right golden nuggets. You know the ones, where you didn't know it was happening, until see a photo and it's 'where's my invite' or 'why did I not hear about this?'. The difference is I actually knew about this event (Cheers Gage) and thank heavens I did.

You see, I was lucky enough yesterday to attend the Ghandi Festival of peace. A day long event hosted by DMU Local to help people acknowledge Ghandi's message of peace and unity.  There was a cricket match followed by an evening celebration. Now being the humble student that I am, there are two things I am trained to find. Free food and free alcohol. Now if they are both in the same place, then the angels start singing.

Well the angels were definately singing. The indian inspired BBQ lunch was absolutely divine with the Lamb Kebab and the bombay potato salad being my personal favourite savory dishes and I very much enjoyed the indian sweets (like seriously just drop a tray in the office each week).

The line for the BBQ.

I also quite happily took advantage of the free wine and the elderflower pop which was amazing. Like seriously, somebody bottle that up and send it to my new place but I think the biggest highlight of yesterday was dancing with the gospel choir (I think the wine helped).

When I wasn't eating, dancing or drinking, I was contacting Matt from Nottingham Univeristy. I am currently planning to have a visit of the uni and the union on the 17th August, so you can look forward to me documenting all of my adventures there.

Tommorow, I shall be graduating which is a very scary time. Mainly because I will no longer be a cute, adorable undergrad. However it is also an exciting time because it's officially when I start a new chapter in my life here at DMU.

So until I graduate,

Toodle Pips,

Kelly
