It finally happened!
I can't talk. The best I can do is a slightly irate croak and I'm living off good old Lemsip. Yes, the long days, free alcohol, late nights and pizza have finally caught up with me and I'm the latest victim of the Freshers Flu. In fact, I'm pretty sure, this is the worst Freshers Flu in my 4 years of study (I blame the vodka).
Since I last wrote my blog entry, a lot has happened. Firstly, I had my cake walk with Louise which went well, for the most part. Now this event was designed for MATURE AND/OR POSTGRADUATE students. This means that the youngest person, in theory, would be 21. Clearly, DMU have some gifted and talented folks, because we had one particular gentleman who was under 18. This gentleman was then higher than the Empire State before leaving the group because he didn't read the memo that we were going to be walking in Leicester before the cake (cough, clearly there for the munchies, cough, cough).
Other than Mr Highman, the event was a success and we managed to feed everyone with some lovely Victoria sponge.
In the evening I was at Injunction. The SU's crazy, wild, student night that takes place every Wednesday. Well, crazy and wild were certainly accurate words for such an occasion. There was a toilet evacuation after one particular gentleman passed out and conked his head (#Amatur). We also counted 5 girls who had to be carried out by the bouncers. 2 instances of snogging that most likely lead to an awkward morning after and 3 drunk cryers. Needless to say, I was far too sober for these incidences and so Jess and I took it upon ourselves to order food like the bored women we were.
Needless to say, after 2 days of minimum sleep, I was pretty broken on Thursday and spent the whole of the activities fair surviving on full sugared coke and Minstrels (Lora I personally thank you for this offering). After a tactical nap between the activity fair and the evening's events, I was ready to consume copious amounts of alcohol on the bar tour. I can't remember much of that night to be very truthful so it clearly must have been a good night.
So that's it to be truthful. Fresher's week is over for another year and Tuesday, I will be started my first day of MA academia. Before then, I have a meeting with the CEO of the SU and a meeting with DMU Global about how we as an SU can help market DMU Global more and get more students involved. It's all very exciting.
